With my living room almost completed, I recently turned my focus on my bedroom next. I have these great antique Pottery Barn-ish brown dressers, but otherwise, no other stand-out furniture or color scheme in the room. I even had recently swapped out an old turquoise and brown comforter for a beige lightweight summer one to really create the inspirational blank slate in the room again.
Flipping through Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel type magazines is an old habit - but I rarely buy from the stores for home furnishings. I like to use them more as inspiration. So you can imagine my combination of excitement and disappointment when I came across this great painting in the Ballad's Design magazine - and the hefty price tag along with it!
Not able to get this serene tree-covered path out of my head, I started thinking more about grassy greens and browns, and how fresh the bedroom would look in that palette. My mom, on the other hand, took immediate action, and headed to Ballard's Backroom in Atlanta to hunt down the painting! If you haven't been there before, you should check it out - they have one over off Defoor's in town, and also one up in Roswell, GA. They have the Ballard's Design items on deep, deep discount, all crammed into this small storefront. My mom managed to find the painting at a price MUCH more in my price range. We got it all hung up and it looks so fantastic!
Now I am officially on the hunt for some coordinating bedroom linens and accessories - any ideas? Where do you look for fantastic but budget-friendly items for your bedroom?

I would like that chandelier. Just sayin. ;)
I think the yellow wall to the green bedroom will be a really nice transition.
